e-Passport- What’s New ?

Department of Passport Nepal
May 20, 2022

E-passport has been continuing as planned by the Department on March 10. The number of petitioners has been increasing daily. There is a program to significantly increase the number of electric deliveries from the first week of December. Also, from the first week of December, there is a program to start live in relation to districts in the Kathmandu Valley. Starting with the Lalitpur District Administration Office, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur District Administration offices will be started soon. That will then be extended to other district administration offices. A timetable for collecting applications for electrical transportation from districts, i.e. live-in enrolment, will be made available quickly. A request has been made to apply for a machine-readable delivery only in cases where it is essential. Within a few weeks, the Department of Passport wants to express commitment to making the delivery issue much more comfortable and faster. Because it's an interim time and there's a lot of work to be done simultaneously, it can be somewhat uncomfortable to serve for the time being.
